“Roll With The Punches”
When was the last time you had to pause and re-evaluate?
I’m not going to lie to you. I didn’t even have the energy to tell you that there wasn’t going to be a blog post last week. And it’s 6:24pm as I’m typing this post.
I’m not going to lie to you. Last week was such an emotional rollercoaster for me and some people close to me. The fourth of July weekend didn’t end as I expected and then went back to work on Tuesday for a case to not end as I expected. With everything I had going on over the last few days, all I could keep telling myself was that sometimes you have to roll with the punches.
We are going to get knocked down sometimes, and if it’s not us getting knocked down, someone close to us who we really care about might get knocked down and we still feel the blow. If and when that happens, it’s okay to stay down for a minute, but we need to find the strength to pick ourselves back up again. We also need to find the strength to ask people for help in our times of need.
After the rough weekend, I stayed home on that Monday. After the rough day in court on Tuesday, I stayed at home that Wednesday and then I worked from home the rest of the week. Thankfully that case resolved how I expected it to this past Monday, but still it was a really tough case that really affected me emotionally.
It’s now 6:30pm and I’m feeling almost back to normal. I am going to try to focus on not being so hard on myself, taking a break when I need it, asking for help when I need it, and engaging in more self-care (I worked out every day this week so far and am looking forward to hitting the gym tomorrow morning!).
I hope that your week has been better than mine and better than last week. If not, it’s okay. Roll with the punches, take a step back, and re-evaluate, then get back to it!
Lastly, here is this week’s motivational message I posted late Monday evening. If you want, you can subscribe to my YouTube channel to see more motivational messages.
Happy Thursday!
“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, NKJV.

Baby,
The scripture that you chose is PERFECT for this post! As you said, it’s ok (and actually necessary at times) to “roll with the punches.” Life has a way of throwing those unexpected punches, but through Christ, we roll with them, dodge them and get back up if we get knocked down! “Keep looking at your feet” as you travel this road on which God has placed you! 👣👀You’ve got this!!💪🏽🙏🏾
Love,
Mom💜
Hang in there Imani, you’re a strong force in all areas of your life! This too shall pass😊 I love the scriptures you choose each week, they always line up perfectly with the subject matter.
