“Congratulations Class of 2022!”
Do you remember how you felt when you graduated?
It’s that time of year again! No, just not my birthday, haha! But it’s graduation season! So many bright people are graduating from high school, college, graduate school, and even elementary school! They are closing one chapter in their lives, taking with them the knowledge and experiences they created over the past few years. They are entering into something new — maybe it’s more education, maybe it’s the career of their dreams, maybe it’s a complete 180 into a whole new journey. I don’t know about you, but graduation season makes me so excited and even inspired!
**Before I go on, let’s take a moment to acknowledge those who graduated in 2020 but weren’t able to have the ceremony they dreamed of or the party to celebrate their accomplishments fully…**
I’ve been removed from any form of institutional education for 7 years, so why does graduation season still inspire me? Because it reminds me of where I was, how far I’ve come, and the many doors that are still left to be opened in my life! I also enjoy seeing people I am close to, whether it’s friends, family members, mentees, sorority sisters, or whoever, post photos with their regalia and giant smiles! Feeling unstoppable! Reminiscing over the long, sleepless nights, reflecting on the moments they wanted to throw in the towel and quit, reminding themselves they can achieve anything they set their minds to! It’s such a beautiful feeling, and I want to take this time to congratulate all of the graduates of the class of 2022! Don’t let anyone make you feel inferior or incapable. Take pride in your achievements, and step into the next chapter of your life with confidence!
What does that next chapter of life usually look like? Well of course it will vary for all of us, but for most of us, it will look like moving! Moving out of your parents’ house and into your college dorm; moving out of your college dorm into your own apartment; out of one apartment in one city into another apartment in another city or even country; moving into a home with your new partner/spouse; or even moving back into your parents’ home for various reasons!
I remember my move from my home in PA to my college dorm in WV. The dorms were furnished, so we didn’t have to worry about toting furniture across state lines. My mother and I did all of the shopping we needed to do to make my dorm room look and feel cozy. Buying those XL Twin bed sets to fit those weirdly sized dorm mattresses lol. My entire family, including just about all of my cousins, piled up in my Grandpa’s van and drove the 2 hours to Morgantown, WV to get settled into my dorm! Transitioning into college and moving out of your childhood home can be a scary thing to some, but one thing that made my transition easier was that my best friend and I were not only going to the same school, but we were also rooming together!
Not everyone will have family help to make moving enjoyable. And if you don’t, that’s okay! You can utilize moving services such as Page Relocation and get a team of people who will provide a high-quality, efficient, and caring solution for the transport of your possessions! I love family-owned businesses because they seem to be more patient and will devote time to making your experience positive and memorable. And let’s not forget that moving doesn’t only happen for us transitioning during graduation season! There are other times we need to move such as when our circumstances change and it will be more financially feasible to live with roommates rather than by ourselves, or when we get older and need to downsize or move into an assisted living space. If you’re in the market for senior moving in Atlanta, GA, Page Relocation also offers those services! They have simple and dedicated senior moving that is a seamless experience with their options and personal Move Coordinator!
Regardless of where you are in life during “graduation season,” the point is to be proud of who you are, where you’ve come from, and where you’re about to go! Transitions happen at various times in our lives, and we don’t need to be afraid to ask for help. These can be beautiful moments, and we should call upon as many people as we can to celebrate with us!
Happy graduation and happy moving!
