Blog
I made the decision to start blogging when I realized that I had a lot to talk about. My mother would ask me how I keep up with everything that I do daily. I go to work, I fit in a spin class, I am learning new recipes, I organize political fundraisers, I participate in Black Lives Matter protests, I engage in discussions with local organizations, I answer the phone when my friends and family call, I read regularly, and I lead a dance ministry at church. I also love uplifting, encouraging, and inspiring people. My friends inform me that I am doing inspirational and amazing things. The compliments humble me, but they got me thinking. Why should I keep the positive things that go on in my life and around me just to myself and my small circle? Why shouldn’t I share all of the goodness with the world? Why shouldn’t I write a little message to place smiles on peoples’ faces?!
I didn’t just haphazardly decide to create a blog, because that would be a setup for failure. I confess, I still do not know what I’m doing lol, but that’s where the support from Facebook groups and search results on Google come in. A blog is a business, regardless of how many posts you choose to create. I am ready to take on this endeavor, and if nothing comes out of it, I know that at the very least it will help me keep a “paper trail” of all of the great things I do and people I encounter! So here are the categories of my blog:
- OTR with Me – posts that cover personal moments
- OTR in My Community – posts that cover my community involvement and advocacy
- OTR with My Family – posts that cover moments with my family and friends
- OTR in the Gym – posts that cover my health and fitness journey
- OTR Collabs – posts that collaborate with and promote another business
As I am typing this I am getting more and more excited! Please take a few moments to read my posts, share them, and leave me tons of comments on your thoughts and any questions you may have!
